Mr. Baker has focused his practice on securities litigation and other investor class actions since 2017. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Baker practiced commercial litigation in New York. He was recognized by Best Lawyers as Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch for 2025-2026. In 2026, Lawdragon named Mr. Baker to its 500 Leading Plaintiff Financial Lawyers list.
Mr. Baker has extensive experience litigating securities class actions and has helped secure significant recoveries for investors in cases against issuers large and small, domestic and foreign. Some of Mr. Baker’s notable, recent successes as the lead attorney include: $65 million secured for investors in Vanguard’s Target Date Funds who incurred unprecedented capital gains taxes in 2021 (comprising an initial $40 million settlement that was subsumed by an intervening SEC settlement to be paid through a Fair Fund, and a subsequent $25 million settlement); $20 million recovery against Live Nation Entertainment, Inc. (global music and entertainment company); $13.25 million recovery against Blue Apron Holdings, Inc. (meal kit delivery company); $11 million recovery against The RealReal, Inc. (luxury consignment company); $6.5 million recovery (in addition to a substantial private recovery for a bondholder) against Global Brokerage, Inc. f/k/a FXCM, Inc. (foreign exchange trading platform company), after certifying a class, defeating a motion for summary judgment, and litigating to the doorstep of trial; $6 million recovery against Covia Holdings Corp. (industrial sand and mineral company); $3 million recovery against GDS Holdings Limited (Chinese data center developer and operator); $3 million recovery against FAT Brands, Inc. (restaurant chain franchise company); $2 million recovery against GTT Communications, Inc. (managed network and security services company); $1.8 million recovery against China Zenix Auto International Limited (Chinese commercial vehicle wheel manufacturer); and $1.75 million recovery against Flux Power Holdings, Inc. (heavy equipment battery systems producer).
