Case narrative
Client was introduced to a fraudulent trading platform through a long-term pig-butchering cultivation on LINE. Funds had entered Tornado Cash approximately four weeks before intake; no cross-cluster cashout to a regulated venue was identifiable. We declined to proceed with a civil matter, delivered a written closing report documenting the traced route, and filed an IC3 criminal referral that the client can reopen if future developments warrant it. No recovery fees were charged.
Takeaway
Where funds are fully routed through sanctioned mixing services, continued civil action is not economically rational. Candid closing is part of the representation.
